Choosing a rum gift

A few useful checks before choosing a bottle.

Look for a familiar starting point

Ask which rum they enjoy and how they like to serve it. Use the maker’s description to compare options, rather than treating every bottle in the category as interchangeable.

Check the actual contents

Read the bottle size, strength and full product name. Gift sets can include miniatures or accessories, and the image may show serving suggestions that are not included.

Keep the gift focused

One well-chosen bottle can be a better present than a large bundle of extras. Alternatively, useful barware can make a thoughtful gift without choosing the drink for them.

Before placing the order

Check the seller, current price, delivery date and age-verification information. If a listing is unclear, choose one with a more useful description or ask the retailer.
